The Tudor Pelagos ref. M25600TN-0001 is a 42mm titanium dive watch with a matte black ceramic bezel insert, 500m water resistance, and Tudor's in-house COSC-certified MT5612 automatic movement. Introduced in 2015 as an upgrade to the original 2012 Pelagos, it replaced that model's ETA-based caliber with Tudor's first manufacture movement, doubling power reserve to roughly 70 hours. It ships on a titanium bracelet with a patented auto-adjusting clasp, plus an additional black rubber strap.

Tudor introduced the Pelagos in 2012 as ref. 25500TN, its first titanium-cased watch and a companion launch to the original Black Bay. That first version used an ETA 2824-based automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve, according to Luxury Bazaar's collector's guide to the line.

In 2015, Tudor replaced that movement with its first fully in-house caliber, the MT5612, creating the reference covered here, 25600TN (black) alongside a new blue variant, 25600TB. Revolution Watch's coverage of the Baselworld 2015 launch notes the watch's Swiss retail price rose from CHF 3,950 to CHF 4,200 with the change, and that the dial text was updated to read "Pelagos Chronometer Officially Certified" to reflect the new COSC-certified movement. According to Luxury Bazaar, the original 25500TN was discontinued once the 25600TN/TB generation launched, and the 25600TN has remained Tudor's standard-production 42mm Pelagos since.

Reviewers consistently point to the titanium case as the defining factor in how the Pelagos wears. Exquisite Timepieces describes it as "extremely light on the wrist" while still feeling "extremely sturdy," and notes the curved lugs suit wrists of roughly 7 inches and above; the same review cautions that the 14.3mm case height keeps the watch from slipping easily under a dress-shirt cuff, even though it remains wearable with more formal attire.

Time and Tide's reviewer calls the watch "a resolutely modern feeling watch" and "a feat of micro-engineering," contrasting its crisp, angular case finishing with the warmer, more vintage-styled Black Bay — noting that the sharper finishing may feel unfamiliar at first but is central to the watch's precision-tool identity.

Luxury Bazaar's collector's guide lays out the Pelagos family tree: the original 2012 25500TN (ETA movement) was followed in 2015 by the in-house-movement 25600TN (black, reviewed here) and 25600TB (blue). A left-hand-drive variant, ref. 25610TNL, followed in 2016 with its crown moved to the 9 o'clock side and a red "Pelagos" dial print. Tudor later expanded the line with the fabric-strapped FXD models starting in 2021, a smaller 39mm Pelagos in 2022, and the 1,000m-rated Pelagos Ultra in 2025.

Monochrome's review of the Pelagos 39 draws a direct specification comparison to the standard 42mm model covered here: the 42mm has a 50mm lug-to-lug versus 47mm on the 39mm, carries 500m of water resistance versus 200m on the smaller watch, includes a date window the 39mm lacks, and uses an all-matte bezel versus the 39mm's radially brushed bezel texture. Monochrome describes the 42mm as a "niche," "hardcore" instrument watch, while positioning the 39mm as a more mainstream daily option.

The Pelagos 25600TN-0001 is sold through Tudor authorized dealers as a current-production model. Teddy Baldassarre and Betteridge, both authorized Tudor retailers, list it at $6,025 USD, which includes the titanium bracelet, a complimentary black rubber strap with titanium buckle, and Tudor's 5-year international warranty, per Teddy Baldassarre's product listing.

Buyers should note the watch has had at least one price increase since its 2015 launch, when Revolution Watch reported a Swiss list price of CHF 4,200 (up from CHF 3,950 for the outgoing ETA-based model); Luxury Bazaar's guide separately cites a $5,325 MSRP at an earlier point in the model's production run, underscoring that list pricing has moved over the watch's lifespan rather than staying fixed.

The reference is distinguished from the visually similar Pelagos LHD (25610TNL) by its centered crown and standard dial text, and from the smaller Pelagos 39 by its date window, larger 50mm lug-to-lug, and 500m water resistance rating.
